The CivicSpatial Grant Program is an ICI Society grant initiative designed to help Local Government and First Nations improve the quality, maintenance and sharing of cadastral and address data.
It is with thanks to the continued support from TELUS, Shaw, FortisBC, BC Hydro, BC Assessment Authority, BC Ministry of Forests, Lands and Natural Resources and the Real Estate Foundation of British Columbia that the CivicSpatial Grant Program is able to assist successful applicants.
CivicSpatial Grants are awarded in the following categories:
$1,500 for commitment to frequent submission of cadastral data as changes occur, utilizing GeoShare’s scheduled, automated delivery processes.
$100,000 from the CivicSpatial Grant Program has been allocated to support the AddressBC initiative. Grants of $1,500 are available to Local Government and First Nation members for their commitment to frequent submissions of address data as changes occur, utilizing GeoShare’s scheduled, automated delivery processes.
Special projects funding that leads to direct improvement in the cadastral fabric. Grant amounts are assessed on a per-project basis but generally fall within a range of $1.50 to $1.75 per improved parcel.
Eligible projects include:
- Adopt the Integrated Cadastral Fabric (ICF) by moving infrastructure data to the new base
- Establish new survey control
- Resolve local government boundaries
